How can I use my marketing degree in missions?

“Use your business skills overseas.”

1. Business as mission: Go to a creative-access country and get a job based on your degree and experience. Then simply live out your faith.

2. Partner with a mission organization and help advance their recruiting/awareness efforts.

3. Move to a developing country, and help nationals develop business skills. You could partner with a business or entrepreneurial school started by missionaries and add needed expertise.

Editor’s note: “Business as mission” is a growing trend. Locate more articles and organizations by searching online for “business as missions”.

“Sell books.”

Work with a Christian book publisher that specializes in books for mission fields. Bible societies in many countries need marketing directors or managers, for example. Writing and translating the books does nothing if they are not sold and read.
